Why Value Matters
Those who work in the public value space will make continuous contributions to the value of those they serve, to their communities and the nation, in ways large and small. We don’t often stop to recognise the nature of that ‘value’ and we don’t always think of the benefits that accrue.
For those of you who work in corporates, private enterprises and in non-profits, the concept of ‘value’ is also highly salient and value as a concept is universal.
In the context of your Projects, we explicitly ask you to address the value of ‘public value’, ‘end user value’ or ‘value delivered’. There are multiple ways for you to address and express the explicit value you believe will likely be the outcome of your project, and we also encourage you to be thoughtful about to whom those benefits and the public value is delivered.
Here is a short reading that highlights the need and value of consciously considering public value.
