Organisational Capability

This chapter is built around the concept of the organisation’s capability. The framework from which we start is the concept of the resource based view of the organisation.

 

The Knowledge Wall Concept

I strongly believe that we know more than we think we know and we can do more than we think we can. That is, in many cases, our capability set as individuals and as teams, exceeds our shared understanding of our explicit expertise and ‘on-hand and ready to go’ action sets.

One quick and easy way to address this is to have a Knowlege Wall conversation. Post-it notes – virtual or tangible – along with stories about past successes, details from Retrospectives, and some recent professional development actions, can really help to show the capabilities and where they lie.

We will work on this concept in our workshop sessions.
