          ADL Report
  • Information Literacy Framework progress
    • With many thanks to both the Info Lit Working Group and colleagues who have provided peer-review, the framework should be finalised over the next few weeks. The group will explore options of where to share the LibGuide link, when ready.
  • Open Education Global Conference bid – UniSQ Library have invited QUT Library and SLQ to join the bid committee. Sarah is working with the committee on the submission for Brisbane to host either the 2024 or 2025 international conference.
  • Makerspaces
    • Dr Andy Yeh, Marcia Mattushek and Sarah planned a pop up Maker Corner in Kelvin Grove library this month. Dr Yeh set up multiple 3D printers and hosted workshops across three days in the HiQ Activity Rooms. Many thanks to everyone involved!
    • Makerspace LaunchPad Tour – Ann-Maree Graham, Stephanie Jacobs and Sarah met with Scott Abbett and Jonathan James and toured the GP O Block space. It was incredible to see students using the space and creating assessment pieces.
  • Canvas
    • Sarah attended one of the Community Site Workshops for Site Coordinators, along with other Library staff. The one hour workshop provided a great overview of the new LMS.
    • Sarah met with Learning and Teaching Unit colleagues to discuss the use of Canvas Commons, and Emma and Katya again met with the group to discuss governance. Watch this space….

Spaces Service

  • Library Spaces UX Working Group
    • We have a great group of library from the Law and KG libraries who are working together to share ideas on how to use User Experience (UX) techniques to learn more about the use of our spaces. We had our second meeting this month.
  • Nicole and Sarah met with Facilities Management staff, Nathan Richardson and David Martin Guerra, to review the KG and GP library spaces. FM will assist the library with repairs and replacement of furniture, starting on Level 2 of the GP library.
  • 24/7 Trial is coming to an end next month. If all goes to plan we will continue 24/7 access in the GP and KG libraries into 2023. Can you believe we had 12,073 entries after hours and only 2 items are missing from the KG library?
