Most projects entail an element of change. Why is that? Because most ‘projects’ involve an upgrade, a new way of doing things, a requirement to ‘stop doing’ something, and engaging with new teams and leaving behind our current teams.

These all involve learning, forgetting, dealing with emotions and negotiating our intentions.

Innovation was defined as something different that creates value, for individuals, teams and organisations.1

Anyone and everyone within an organisation can create an innovation, and it can be a new product, process, service, or idea. Some definitions suggest that innovation is ‘the invention of entirely new things. In this unit however, an innovation can be a big breakthrough, or an incremental improvement.

This Pressbook presents you with some additional insights and some ‘how to’ models that will be of help to you as you make your way forward with your project.
